Monarch Uniforms | Women’s Stretch Jogger Scrub Set
Concept to Production
Monarch Uniforms | Women’s Stretch Scrub Set
Apparel Design + Technical Product Development
I collaborated with the Monarch team to translate their initial ideas into a clear and cohesive product direction. After reviewing successful scrub styles across the competitive market, we used those insights to develop a classic design that felt relevant to the Monarch brand and accessible to a broad range of women.
I translated the approved direction into technical sketches and color presentations that allowed the team to clearly visualize the coordinated set. From there, I developed the complete tech pack, including construction details, measurements, grading, trims, labeling, and production specifications.
The final design pairs a versatile single pocket top with a slim jogger pant in a soft stretch fabrication. Seven functional pockets provide storage for essential tools and personal items, while a dedicated badge loop adds functionality specific to the needs of medical professionals.
I led the fit development process in collaboration with my technical designer, directing live model fittings and making the final fit decisions to ensure the client’s goals were met. Together, we evaluated each sample, refined measurements and construction, guided pattern corrections, and communicated updates directly with the factory before final production approval.

The Challenge
Create a dependable wardrobe staple that could serve a mass-market customer without defaulting to the loose, boxy conventions of traditional scrubs. The set needed to combine a flattering fit, stretch comfort, freedom of movement, practical storage, and medical-specific functionality while maintaining a modern, fashion-aware point of view.
The design strategy focused on an edited silhouette with purpose-built details. Proportion, fabrication, pocket placement, and styling versatility were developed together so the set would feel polished without compromising everyday performance.
Fit + Grading Process
The size and grading framework referenced ASTM Missy standards and was calibrated toward the target mass-market customer, with additional consideration for a curvier body shape and comfortable everyday movement. Establishing the core measurements and grade rules at the beginning allowed the team to refine the sample-size fit and the full size range in parallel with factory pattern development.
A fit model representative of the target sample size was selected for live fittings. Each sample was evaluated on-body, with corrections documented through revised measurements, construction notes, and direct pattern guidance. As development progressed, the tech pack and grade rules were updated together to keep the product and documentation aligned.
Final Production
Following final fit approval, the production tech pack was updated with the last confirmed measurements, grade rules, construction details, trim and label specifications, and approved corrections. The result was a cohesive, factory-ready package supporting consistent execution from approved sample through bulk production.
